It's all about the photos! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I have ONE last photo to share with you for Route 66. I met Neil when we cycled across Canada in 2013. We stayed in touch with social media. He's retired and is an amazing photographer. A while back, I had posted my progress on Facebook, and he alluded to a great photo he was going to post when I finished. Well, here's the photo!!!

Me at the End of the Trail for Route 66

Isn't that hilarious! He photoshopped me from one photo where I held a sign as we entered a province (I think it ...

The FINISH line from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm pretty excited this morning. Why? I did it!! I walked the entire length of Route 66. That's a total of 2,280.3 miles. So bear with me for a minute while I mark this momentous occasion.

Here's my position on the Santa Monica Pier. I see a Cheesecake Factory nearby - perhaps I can have a piece of cheesecake as a reward?

The finish line at the Santa Monica Pier

Here's the view from the pier!! I love it - I can't go any further!!!

The way home from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What's with the crazy weather? We had crazy rain for most of the day, and how about that wind? I don't think we had any issues at our house, but you can hear the house creaking in the wind, and those little bathroom vents flap like crazy!

The girls were thrilled to see me, and I managed to walk with each of them between the rain. I got lucky because this wasn't just rain - it was torrential rain driven by the wind. Fortunately, whenever the rain started, I was snuggled up with a quilt in my chair ...

It takes how long? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I know that you've all experienced this. You think you're going to get project A done in a day. It's all cut out - how hard can it be? Well, I'm still working on the first small bag that I pulled from my projects box. With all the chatter and the side trips and the movie last night - I don't seem to be getting much done.

However, I'm just laughing it off because, technically, this is a mini-vacation, and well - if I don't get a lot sewn, who really cares? Not me. I did ...

The home stretch from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my - if you live near me, I hope you were out yesterday. The weather was GLORIOUS. It was 18 degrees and sunny. I went for a long, long walk. I hit the mall, the library, the grocery store, and the bank! Now I have no errands for today when it's also going to be a glorious day. Oh well, one doesn't need a destination to go for a walk.

Oh - and I saw a fellow quilter who lives not far from me. She was out for a walk with a friend, but I have to say that ...

Are we there yet? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I spent the majority of the day just sewing, and it was glorious! I did sew some of the homework stuff that needed to be done. I'll share that with you another day. I need to get some more writing done today to get the homework to the group. I did catch up on some other projects that needed to be done.

Best of all, I spent it with two friends, and we had a fabulous time just chatting and sewing. Here's the thing - we ALL live alone - right? And did I not hear that it's OK ...

Somewhere over the rainbow from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I learned another very valuable lesson yesterday. With all the writing that I do and how I have a love/hate relationship with technology, you'd think that I would have learned this a long time ago. I had to write a document yesterday and I had some issues with it that well, you don't want to know about. Then when I went to save, Word froze. Yep - the second time this week.

I didn't panic and I didn't even have time to say some bad words. I just restarted. So the next time I start a ...

Aviatrix Medallion from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Sigh...............................

I am very frustrated. My newly upgraded internet connection is CRAP. I'm so frustrated with the whole thing. I'll be in the middle of a presentation, and then I'm not. It takes about 3 minutes to get it back up, and then I have to reconnect things. It's not pretty at my house when that connection drops. I think the internet dropped about 5 times yesterday that I was aware of, and two of those times, I was on Zoom.

Let's just say that I'm calling my provider yet again. I wonder what ...

Can it get even crazier? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So you know that I have a crazy schedule. One for my "day" job and one for me. If it could be possible, the day job has exploded. The bookings for lectures are coming in so fast that I can barely keep up to the number. It's somewhere over 60 at this point. Thankfully, the bookings started slow so we could get a handle on the paperwork involved and for the most part, I think we have all the agendas in place and the samples worked out.

I'll never be done making samples because that's how I ...

The end of things from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my -- I'm as busy as ever and wasn't August supposed to be a quiet month? Well - it will be, starting tomorrow! HA - no laughing!! It seems that everything I'm working on, I still can't share with you! How crazy is that?

I finished off the second quilt for Quilts of Valour yesterday. The binding got put on by machine, and the sleeve got hand stitched in place. In case you're wondering, that particular quilt hanger is a rod with clips in case the quilt doesn't have a sleeve. This quilt needed a sleeve ...

Changing Habits from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Habits can be our friends and our worst enemies! Habits like buying a coffee every day, eating a cookie or going for a walk. Twenty years ago, I got into the bad habit of having a hot chocolate at Tim's. I was at school and everyone went to Tim's for coffee. Since I didn't drink coffee or tea at the time, I settled for hot chocolate. That was the start of my downfall! OK - so I'm exaggerating! But it wasn't a good habit to get into. Sometimes, I'd have two a day and once ...

Making new friends from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Can you believe? I didn't take a single picture yesterday. Well - just pictures of the ice on the sidewalks which I still need to write a letter about. There's just not enough time in the day. No - I spent most of yesterday fiddling with technology. Shooting videos to be precise!

You see, I wanted some videos to go along with the Vintage Christmas and Christmas Fig Sew Alongs that start today!! I'm super excited and I'll be sending out e-mails to the two groups later today. I was hoping to have all the videos done as ...
